ABOUT ME

I’m Alex St. Louis, a Mechatronic Engineer with a background in product development, manufacturing optimization, and hands‑on technical problem‑solving. I believe there’s always a smarter way to get things done. Over the years I’ve worked in both product development and industrial environments, learning that the best results come from understanding the problem from every angle and creating solutions that truly fit the need.

My background includes experience with ISO quality frameworks and SQF certification standards, giving me a deep understanding of how to balance operational excellence with strict regulatory requirements. I’ve spent my career exploring how things work – from materials science in product development to optimizing manufacturing lines and integrating robotics. Whether I’m designing a custom piece of equipment, streamlining a process, or troubleshooting a system that others have given up on, I approach each project as a puzzle to solve.

MY MISSION

My mission is to transform challenges into opportunities by delivering innovative, practical, and precision-crafted solutions. I am committed to improving efficiency, streamlining processes, and ensuring the highest levels of quality — whether working within ISO frameworks, meeting SQF standards, or developing custom designs that push boundaries. Every project is an opportunity to create lasting value for our clients, and I approach each one with the same dedication, creativity, and attention to detail.

My vision is to be the go-to partner for businesses that refuse to settle for “good enough.” I aim to set the standard for problem-solving in engineering, manufacturing, and process improvement — combining technical expertise, hands-on experience, and forward-thinking design to create solutions that last. I see a future where every client we serve gains not just a fix for today, but a foundation for tomorrow’s success.

MY VISION

Professional Experience

  • Plant Engineer & Production Supervisor, Titan Manufacturing (2023–2025): Led operations for a vertically integrated powder‑fill manufacturing site. Oversaw production and maintenance workstreams with a focus on safety, quality, cost, and delivery. Supervised daily plant operations and developed SOPs and SSOPs to ensure consistency and compliance. Supported implementation of AI‑driven predictive maintenance and automation initiatives to streamline workflows and reduce errors. Partnered with Quality to maintain strict control of inventory and document systems, contributing to successful SQF audits. Built and managed training programs for onboarding and cross‑training, while fostering a collaborative, safety‑first culture.

  • Multi‑craft Engineering Specialist, IXS Coatings (2022–2023): Led the commissioning and start‑up of automated production cells at a new facility. Designed custom motor controls and safety devices, created SOPs and corrected dosing systems, and integrated custom tachometers to ensure consistent operations. By automating flushing and testing of spray equipment, you reduced material consumption by more than 66% and cut man‑hours by over 50%. You also commissioned and debugged a chemical blending facility, configured production data transfers to the ERP, and trained operators. A reference letter praised your creative solutions and troubleshooting ability.

  • Lead Maintenance Technician, Wonder Brands – FGF (2021–2022): Improved Allen Bradley control systems, designed and fabricated specialized tools, and responded to urgent maintenance requests to minimize downtime. Leveraged machining and welding expertise to contribute to high‑quality components and supported process optimization.

  • Multi‑craft Engineering Specialist, Technicolor (2017–2020): Supported daily operations and provided forecasting to streamline resources. Oversaw projects from inception to completion within time and budget constraints. Diagnosed and resolved equipment malfunctions and maintained integrated systems such as Knapp, AS400, Siemens S7, and ASRS to ensure seamless operations. Repurposed equipment to maximize resource utilization.

  • Entrepreneurial & Additional Experience: Founded and operated Elite Events & Productions LLC and worked as a general contractor. Established St. Louis Solutions, an engineering and consulting venture focused on 3D design, custom electronics, and automation projects. Hold an Associate’s degree in Mechatronics with a Siemens Level II certification and have taken courses in automation systems, C++, and manufacturing applications.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish.

A Note from Alex

Alex St.Louis

Every project I take on is personal — not just a job to finish, but a challenge to solve and an opportunity to help someone move forward. I’m committed to making sure the final result works better than you imagined. My experience with ISO frameworks and SQF standards ensures I deliver solutions that aren’t just effective, but also compliant and sustainable.

Outside of work, I enjoy rock climbing, hiking, woodworking, and building and flying drones. I’m also passionate about technology and cybersecurity. In my homelab, I run services for home automation, reverse proxy with secure SSL, personal clouds, private AI, and networked type‑1 hypervisors for virtual machines and containers. These hobbies let me keep learning, experimenting, and bringing fresh ideas back into my professional work.
